Our newest artist to grace the pages of DownloadFreePosters.com is Andy Wright.

There isn’t a day that goes by where Andy doesn’t learn something new about photography. Typically sticking with candid photo journalistic images, Andy is currently working on experimenting with his cameras to try different techniques and styles. He especially is enjoying the more digital aspect of photography that is becoming more and more mainstream, and feels that the ability to see it helps to push yourself until you get that perfect picture.

When asked what it was about photography that he enjoys so much, Andy said, “I have always liked the art of capturing that special spark which can shine through in a photographic moment that speaks volumes of the people or the place or the event.”

We’ve been quite busy lately adding some new posters to DownloadFreePosters.com. Gerry Lyons, an artist from Ontario, Canada has submitted a large number of photographs to be featured on our website, including the ones that can be seen here.

Gerry attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has done work as a professional designer, and is constantly working to improve his artistic skills.

We will continue, in the next few weeks, to add more posters by Gerry. In the meantime, you can view more of Gerry’s free posters, or go to Gerry’s website to view and purchase other prints.

For the first post on our blog, I’d like to give a little bit of background on this DownloadFreePosters.com project of ours.

This website provides free 8 1/2″ x 11″ high resolution prints and posters for the average person who doesn’t want to spend the money in order to decorate their home, apartment, dorm room, office, and so on, but would still like to have SOMETHING on their walls. All of the posters provided on our website have been created or taken by professional photographers, painters and other artists.

You may be asking yourself why these artists would be willing to provide free posters and prints. A lot of times it is very difficult for an artist to get recognition for their work. By providing us with art that we can use on our website, these artists are gaining publicity -– getting their name out in the world, if you will. Of course, we always recommend that, if any of the artists you like have a website, you check out some of their other work through the website. Most of the time, these artists will have pieces you can view that are not available on DownloadFreePosters.com. You never know what kind of jems you might be able to find.

All of the posters available download and print on this site will have a small, unobtrusive http://www.surftosave.com logo in the bottom right hand corner of the print. If you would prefer a print without a logo, you can easily sign up for our Platinum membership. The Platinum membership is free, but requires you to tell 5 friends about us.

Our team of developers and artists has high hopes and expectations for this project, and look forward to where this website will go in the future.
